Tasting Notes

Grape varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon | Merlot

Dark fruit, pencil shavings, and structured tannins characterise this wine’s classic profile and ageing potential.

The nose reveals cassis, ripe plum, and cedar. On the palate, black cherry and graphite are complemented by savoury tannins and crisp acidity. It is a medium to full-bodied wine with notable persistence and a dry, refined finish. Perfect for ageing for 5 to 10 years or enjoying today after careful decanting.

Winemaking Process

Gentle fermentation and French oak ageing develop balance, aromatic richness, and a smooth tannin structure.

Handpicked fruit was fermented in stainless steel with gentle pump-overs. Maceration follows before 14 months of ageing in French oak barrels (10% new). The élevage enhances tannin refinement and subtle spice. With no fining employed the Megan is a classic expression of Stellenbosch-inspired red winemaking.
